Bringing our Lowcountry craftsmanship north to Beaufort — hardscapes and outdoor living built to last in coastal conditions.

Built for Beaufort
Beaufort's homes range from historic-district cottages to waterfront estates on Lady's Island and Dataw, and each calls for a different kind of hardscape. Palm Shore Hardscapes & Design builds travertine and paver pool decks, patios, and outdoor kitchens across Beaufort, Port Royal, and the surrounding islands, with materials and detailing chosen to suit the architecture and the tidal Lowcountry setting.
What We Build in Beaufort

What to Know About Hardscape in Beaufort
- 01
Properties inside Beaufort's Historic District fall under the Historic District Review Board, and visible exterior changes — including hardscape — can require review. Outside the district, communities such as Habersham, Dataw Island, and Newpoint have their own architectural committees. We prepare the drawings and material samples each requires.
- 02
Beaufort's architecture leans traditional, and the hardscape should match. Brick and tabby-inspired finishes, tumbled travertine, and natural stone suit the older homes; large-format pavers suit the newer builds on Lady's Island and in Habersham. We help you choose materials that look like they belong with the house.
- 03
Much of Beaufort is low-lying and tidal. Drainage is engineered into every project — base grading, edge drains where needed, and surfaces pitched to move water away from the house and the pool. Coping and joints are sealed for salt exposure.
- 04
Permits run through the City of Beaufort, the Town of Port Royal, or Beaufort County depending on the address; we handle the process. We also serve Okatie and Bluffton, a short drive down Highway 170.
