Our Approach

Designed for Sandy Soil, Salt Air, and Review Boards

Every yard we touch sits on sandy soil, under salt air, inside a community with a review board. We design for all three before the first paver goes down.

A pool deck or patio should look like it was always part of the house. Palm Shore Hardscapes & Design handles every stage — site visit, ARB drawings, base construction, finish work — so the outdoor space you get is the one you pictured, and it's still level a decade from now.

Base Before Beauty

Every deck and patio sits on excavated, compacted aggregate with drainage designed for sandy Lowcountry soil. The surface is what you see; the base is why it’s still flat in ten years.

Materials That Handle the Coast

Travertine, porcelain, and natural stone chosen for salt air, summer heat, and afternoon storms — sealed joints, coastal-grade hardware, and finishes that won’t fade or fail.

We match the hardscape to your architecture and your community — tabby and brick for a Beaufort cottage, large-format pavers for a Palmetto Bluff build. It should look like it was always there.

We prepare the site plan, material samples, and specifications your review board wants, and we’ve been through the process in most of the Lowcountry’s gated communities.

The people who walk your property at the site visit are the people who build it and walk you through it at the end. One point of contact, one standard.

The Experience

What Working With Palm Shore Looks Like

From the first site visit to the final walkthrough, you deal with the same people. We give you a scaled layout and a fixed price before anything is ordered, handle the review board and the permit, and keep the schedule honest — so the only surprise at the end is how much you use the space. And if your project goes beyond hardscape — a new pool, lighting, landscape — we bring in the Lowcountry builders we trust and manage it all as one project.

Family Owned

Two Generations, One Standard

Palm Shore is a father-and-son business. Together, Miguel Gallegos Sr. and Miguel Gallegos bring 10+ years in the trade and 1,000+ completed jobs — and they live in the same Lowcountry communities they build in. We love this community because it's ours, so every project gets built like it's for a neighbor.

Miguel Gallegos Sr., Co-Owner & Senior Project Manager at Palm Shore Hardscapes & Design

Miguel Gallegos Sr.

Co-Owner & Senior Project Manager

Miguel Sr. has worked in the trade his whole life. As co-owner and senior project manager, he runs every Palm Shore job in the field — he leads the crews, checks the base before a single paver goes down, and doesn’t sign off until the work meets his standard.

He and his son also run a family tile company for interior work, so the same eye for straight lines and tight joints goes into every pool deck, patio, and outdoor kitchen we build.

Miguel Gallegos, CEO & Owner at Palm Shore Hardscapes & Design

Miguel Gallegos

CEO & Owner

Miguel runs the business side of both family companies. As CEO and owner, he handles everything in the office — estimates, scheduling, customer communication, marketing, and the systems that keep every project on track.

That leaves his dad’s crews free to focus on building. When you call, email, or request a quote, Miguel is the one making sure you get a clear answer and a schedule you can count on.

Palm Shore Hardscapes & Design is based in Bluffton and serves Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Okatie, Hardeeville, Beaufort, and Ridgeland — Beaufort and Jasper counties.

Yes. We regularly build in Palmetto Bluff, Hampton Lake, Rose Hill, Berkeley Hall, Sea Pines, Palmetto Dunes, Hilton Head Plantation, Sun City Hilton Head, Latitude Margaritaville, and other Lowcountry communities, and we coordinate gate access.

In most planned communities, yes. Architectural Review Boards typically review hardscape changes for footprint, materials, and drainage. Palm Shore prepares the site plan, material samples, and specifications your board requires and submits them for you.

Often. The Town of Hilton Head Island's Land Management Ordinance regulates impervious surface, setbacks, and tree protection, and many hardscape projects fall under it. We handle the drawings and the application.

No. Beaufort, Lady's Island, and Port Royal are inside our regular service area, and we schedule site visits there the same week as anywhere else.
